Shenyang, the capital city of Northeast China's Liaoning province, has tightened COVID-19 prevention and control measures, requiring all overseas inbound travelers to receive nucleic acid tests and undergo medical quarantine observation. The new rules went into effect on Jan 5.

On Dec 30, Shenyang declared a "wartime state" after the city reported recent COVID-19 cases.

The new measures apply to all inbound people coming to Shenyang city.

All people entering China through Shenyang or choosing Shenyang as their final destination must undergo a 14-day medical quarantine observation at government-designated sites and a seven-day quarantine observation at home.

During the quarantine periods, they should receive three nucleic acid tests and two serum antibody tests.

For inbound people who enter Shenyang via a third place and have undergone 14 days of concentrated quarantine observation before arriving in Shenyang, they shall do seven days of quarantine observation at home.
